SMART Showcase School
L’Ouverture Technology Magnet School was named a SMART Showcase School in January, 2008. The SMART Showcase School Program comprises schools that use classroom technology in outstanding ways. The schools have also become resources for other educators who want to learn more about the benefits of implementing SMART Boards and other SMART products in the classroom. Participation in the program is by invitation only. SMART Technologies hand selects schools with demonstrated commitments to creating 21st-century learning environments. “The SMART Showcase School Program was established to recognize leading schools for their creativity and commitment to the effective implementation of technology in the classroom,” says Nancy Knowlton, SMART’s CEO. “These schools are leaders in this regard, and they are making a significant contribution to other educators' understanding of technology use in classrooms across North America.”
L’Ouverture hosts visitors across the world to visit them and see how they apply best practices for using technology products to improve student performance.
