The Marratech client is web conferencing software that is easily installed on your computer. Marratech can give you access to a secure group work environment with crystal clear voice over IP, an interactive whiteboard, the ability to share information and documents, talk and chat in groups or in private and - if desired - the opportunity to see each other by using web cameras. With Marratech, your site can set up virtual meeting or lecture rooms. Participants have free access to your rooms direct from school or home computer.  An optional Auditorium facility permits lectures or presentations to large, remote audiences (Available through the Kan-Ed portal only)

Required Software

The only software required is the 6.0 version of Marratech. This can be downloaded at: www.marratech.com

Required Hardware

The following items are required for doing a web conference with Marretech. The brands listed below are only suggestions, but have been proven to work with Marratech conferencing software.

Personal Web Conference

• Logitech QuickCam® Pro 5000 (Desktop computers)
• Logitech Internet Chat Headset

Large Group Web Conference

• NEW- Phoenix Duet Conference Room Speakerphone (Model MT202/PCO) This is a high quality noise-canceling micrphone for under $200. It is USB powered and has a built in speaker and microphone. Has an additional port for adding headphones or speakers.
• Digital Video Camera
  The advantage of using a Mini DV video camera is  it can zoom in for close-up views, pan the room, and ecord sessions for later use.  
• Belkin HI-SPEED USB 2.0 Cable
  Model Number BELKIN F5U228. This cable is required in order for a Mini DV video camera to be connected  to a computer running Windows XP.  Estimated price: $69-89 dollars
• Tripod
  Any tripod will work.

            Altenative cost effective options for large group web conferneces

• Desktop Microphone
  Labtec Desk Mic 524 works well in most conference rooms, but this option is not highly recommended.
• External Speakers
  Any speakers will work as long as they are suitable for the size of the room. A sound system may be required for larger venues.
