How much does it cost?
The Kan-ed Portal is free to you if you choose to use it as it is. You are
not required to purchase "add-ons".
Can the portal and it's resources be accessed
from home?
Yes, it call all be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet.
If we buy "add-ons",
when will the charges be incurred?
In December or January.
Will I be paying for the summer months also?
Yes, the license is for one year, from January 1 to December 31, but remember
that your staff and students can continue to access the resources from home
during the summer months.
Can I pick and choose the grade levels/programs/specific
students and/or teachers?
Yes, all of the software is license per user and you can purchase as many
or as few as you like (with the exception of Atomic Learning which must be
purchased for an entire school). In this way you can target special groups
as needed.
Can I just purchase licenses for the number of computers in my computer lab,
no matter how many students will be using the product?
No, because the software is web-based, it is license for users, not computers.
Will someone be able to provide periodic information about usage so I can
determine cost effectiveness of the various software over time?
Yes, your Kan-ed administrator (STS) can now run reports about your school's
use of all the resources in the portal at any time.
Who will manage the accounts?
STSs at each building have been trained to manage the accounts. The Instructional
Technology Department will support them as needed in this endeavor.
