The Elementary Progress Report (EPR) is an online version of the paper copy of the progress report that has been used in the previous years. The electronic version is being implemented in the fall of 2008 for students in grades 1st-5th.
Go to the internet, and type http://wpsportal in the address bar. Click on Services in the left hand menu. Click on the Student Services link on the left. Scroll down and click on the Elementary Progress Report link or click here for a direct link.

- How do you determine what goes in the Tier 2 box? Is the Tier 2 box a cumulative grade that should be averaged? When marking the Tier 2 box, the code assigned should represent your comfort level with the student’s performance at the end of the nine weeks of Tier 2 instruction (this is a snapshot) on the individual skills taught. The Tier 2 box marking is NOT a measure of overall competence (core instruction which represents the whole photo album) of the student’s performance in math or reading.
- Where is the best place to store all the data that will defend our Tier 2 grade? This depends on individual teachers’ recording of student information/data. Many have used their grade book, individual student folders or see example Tier 2 instruction/grouping planning forms shown in training. It is important to record data on student progress so we are able to back up our instructional decisions if ever needed.
- Do we write comments about Tier for parents and future teachers? Yes, if needed.
- Are parents going to get information on what the markings for Tier II mean? For example the old report card had the rubric for fluency and explanation about reading levels etc.? What about the back page from the progress report in the past? A hard copy of the forms on the back of the previous progress report will be provided for teachers to hand out to parents for the first nine weeks. They will be available electronically for teachers to print off for any new students after the first nine weeks.
- At what point will this EPR help teachers decide whether or not to begin a green form on a student? In the past, GEST forms were based on whether or not the student had a "needs improvement" anywhere on the report card. Now, are you saying the Gest form is whether or not they have an "intervention" marked on tier 2? When do you fill out the green Intervention Strategy card? If after nine weeks of Tier 2 instruction, the teacher’s comfort level is such that they give the student an “Intervention” marking in the Tier 2 box for either math and/or reading a green Gest form should be started for the student. The Gest form could be started sooner if needed … use your professional judgment based on other diagnostic tools.
- During Tier time is it appropriate to be working on 1 indicator but change the activities to fit the skill levels of your students; intervention, practice and enrichment? Not always, but this may be appropriate based on core instructional skills taught and the levels of student response to the instruction. Tier 2 is NOT just an extension of the core instructional time and targeted indicators. It is small group instruction on specific skills for specific students.
